14. Ray outside the SE corner of Mars Base Zero. The unpainted
area on the wall is where the picture window goes.

15.
Looking into Mars Base Zero, from about where Ray was standing in the
above photo. Note the chicken wire fence to keep moose from harvesting
our crops! The folage is primarily potatoes.

16.
Looking west from the south eastern end of Mars Base Zero. Sunflower
plant to the right; the dense folage in the middle is potatoes.

17.
Onions in the far box; spinach in the right end of the near box. The
left end of the near box was just planted in lettuce and the right end in
radishes.

18.
Sunflowers and tomatoes in square F. Square E, the NW most
corner of the greenhouse is in the background.

19.
These sunflower plants are doing very well--but not well enough;
they didn't manage to make any seed by the time Mars Base Zero shut
down for the winter.

20.
Cabbage in a milk crate. Milk crates have
worked very well for us; they are easy to move around,
hold dirt fairly well (especially if you line the sides with
grass or straw) and provide a minimum of soil area for
things like cabbage...

22. Square C wheat. Square a is in the background; square D is in the
lower left foreground.

23.
Square E (the NE most square), with the spelt in the SE end of
square C in the foreground.

24.
Square C. Turnips in the back, cabbage in the middle and wheat
in the foreground.
